Suspects in the murder of Kgautšwana shop owner denied bail

The suspects are Tonderia Motseke (34),  Nikson Matanda (28), Trymore Mapakiti (26), Philemon Sithole (18), and Obey Mthembu (31).

BURGERSFORT – The five  suspects  who allegedly murdered a Kgautšwana shop owner appeared before the Praktiseer Magistrate’s Court this morning .

Tonderia Motseke (34),  Nikson Matanda (28), Trymore Mapakiti (26), Philemon Sithole (18), and Obey Mthembu (31) appeared before the court on charges of murder, attempted murder, three counts of business robbery, possession of unlicenced firearm and ammunition, as well as that of  possession of presumed stolen properties.

They were all denied bail and their cases were postponed to May 15 for a formal bail application and further.

The suspects were in possession of an undisclosed amount of cash.

“The suspects were arrested after they were positively linked with the murder of a 43 year old shop owner and an  attempted murder of his assistant during a business robbery that allegedly took place at Kgautšwana on April 14.

“They were further linked with several robberies and burglaries in and around the Burgesfort area,”  revealed  Limpopo SAPS spokesman Brig Motlafelo Mojapelo.

He said  investigations are still being conducted to determine whether the suspects have committed similar cases in Burgersfort and across the province.
