Tammy Taylor Nails South Africa in Every City

From a single salon in Pretoria in 2013 to more than 40 salons across the country, Tammy Taylor Nails South Africa has an impressive footprint, and one that is still growing.

The brand was founded in the USA by Tammy Taylor in 1983, and brought to South Africa by President and Founder of Tammy Taylor Nails South Africa, Melany Viljoen, in 2013. Melany discovered the brand while watching nail tutorials on YouTube, and both Tammy and her brand immediately resonated with Melany.

After visiting Tammy in the US, Melany quickly secured the sole ownership and distributorship of the Tammy Taylor brand in South Africa. She qualified as a master nail career educator with Tammy in the USA, as well with Tammy’s director of education world-wide, Mary Stokus, and set about setting up her first Tammy Taylor Nails salon in Pretoria soon afterwards.

In a few short years, Melany’s franchise business model has seen Tammy Taylor Nails salons launched in cities and towns across South Africa, at an impressive rate. The salon footprint is still growing, with franchises in exclusive locations being signed on a monthly basis.

“I want the Tammy Taylor Nails exclusive experience to be available to all women across South Africa,” explains Melany. “We have some cities that already have an established salon presence, and others that are slowly starting to gain momentum, which is exciting! We meet with potential franchisees every week, and we are encouraged by their enthusiasm and commitment to making their chosen locations work.”

This exclusive brand brings a combination of the best quality products in the world, the best-trained technicians in the country and the most indulgent salon experience, to the women who of Africa who previously only dreamed of this level of exclusivity. Tammy Taylor Nails not only offers this amazing experience to clients, but franchisees have the amazing opportunity to be part of a flourishing brand that truly looks after those within the group.

“We take our location-scouting and negotiations seriously,” says Melany. “We try to ensure that everybody wins – finding our new franchisees the perfect location is a challenge we relish, because we know that the correct location can make all the difference to a salon. We also take our existing franchisees into account, ensuring that everyone has the optimum feeder area, with compromising on those of our other salons.”

Not only does Tammy Taylor Nails South Africa have a great footprint, but each salon offers something a little different. “We have various salon sizes with different combinations of offerings,” explains Melany. “There really is something for everyone, from both a franchisee and client perspective. Some salons are smaller, with a Nail and Pedi Bar feel, while others offer the full spa experience in the most exclusive settings. One thing that does not change, however, is the feeling that every client gets when they enter one of our salons – that of being treated like a queen. We know that customer experience is everything, and we pride ourselves on making every client feel special and valued.”

With a growing branch network, the Tammy Taylor Nails brand has firmly established itself as a force to be reckoned with in the nail and beauty industry in South Africa. “We’re not sitting still either,” says Melany. “We’re always looking at innovative new ways to present our products and services to our clients, and bring them the latest in trends and techniques. We’re always evolving as a brand, and our clients have come to expect that originality from us – it’s one of our biggest differentiators, setting us apart from the rest.”
