Shared values and passion to make a difference drives MobiGo Solutions
Women in business – meet Tshepiso Phosa and Dr Chantelle Swanepoel from MobiGo Solutions

Tshepiso Phosa and Dr Chantelle Swanepoel, directors of Mpumalanga-based digital-transformation company MobiGo Solutions, believe that diversity and shared values are the keys to success. They believe that education is the only way to break the poverty cycle that has been plaguing South Africa for decades. The two young women joined forces in 2017 with a shared vision of how a new country and a new world could be brought about.
The Covid-19 outbreak gave the company a fresh opportunity to aid corporates, schools and non-profit organisations in productive digitisation, where paper-based content or processes are transformed into digital content or processes.
As we have all realised during this pandemic, a digital training and learning strategy is pivotal to any business or community.
“Online training can be very productive and save time and money,” Dr Swanepoel said. MobiGo Solutions offers a learner-management system that institutions can populate with their own content. Online training can be customised and a tracking function is also available to keep tabs on employee or student progress. Even staff or visitors’ induction can be done using this platform. As a part of the online training development, many forms of media, including animation, are built into the modules to enable the use of as many of your senses as possible. “The Production House has always been a big part of the company and specialises in 2D and 3D animation. The company specialises in digital transformation and training, which includes industrial inductions and video marketing, with modern technology such as augmented reality and virtual reality that links the workplace or school to the learner.”
As they believe that learning in your mother tongue is imperative, all content can be translated into 12 different languages. Phosa and Swanepoel are currently doing research for the Mine Health and Safety Council to develop a framework for contractor management to improve health and safety. Digital platforms are used to gather information and collect data. This new way of doing research is both productive and innovative.
They agree that the fact that they are based in Mpumalanga gives them a competitive advantage, as it enables them to offer more competitive pricing and out-of-the-box thinking. They are a diverse, yet dynamic team and they believe that it is these differences that make them successful. Tshepi, as Tshepiso is lovingly referred to, is a vibrant personality full of life and has a knack for marketing, where Dr Swanepoel is more process-driven and handles the operations – forming two halves of a whole. They are very proud of their diverse, talented and vibrant team of almost 20 employees.
Tshepiso, who recently lost her sister and has been a pillar of strength to her family in this time, said she is driven by the belief that we must build the leaders that South Africa needs.
“I want to impact on the world around me. I want to develop leaders, motivate people and invest in young entrepreneurs,” she said. Through MobiGo Solutions she is involved with orphanages, feedings schemes and the farming industry. Dr Swanepoel has had a love of community projects since university, where she was part of TUKS RAG. “I am passionate about community programmes that uplift people. I believe in strong family values. I have been blessed with a great husband and two lovely children, and I am constantly aware that they model our behaviour.
“As a mother, I understand the importance of the freedom to be with your children and the strain all households have been under with the closure of schools and the limitation on movement. Digital transformation makes it possible to work from home and be with your children, even if you are working at the same time. For me, that is a game-charger,” she said. She said what brought her and Phosa together as partners is the fact that they are both committed children of God.
