Webinar to celebrate Women’s Month in the Inkomati-Usuthu Water Management Area

Don't miss out on this exciting webinar to celebrate Women's month in the Inkomati-Usuthu Water Management Area.

The world is 10 years away from the achievement of the SDG 6 (Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all by 2030), yet the impact of climate change (droughts that are more frequent and prolonged), inefficient use of water and poor infrastructure already indicates that the SDG will not be achieved.

This is more so the case for third world and developing economies, and within them the hardest hit being rural areas. It remains true that the availability of water is a key enabler for the provision of safe water, sanitation, hygiene, and sustainable livelihoods.

In light of this looming challenge, the COVID-19 Pandemic hit the globe and overnight created a high demand on safe clean water and sanitation for all people.  This demand has a higher impact on women and girl children as they are caregivers, home makers and require water for hygiene and other uses.

This Month marks the Women’s Month and in celebrating it, the IUCMA calls on all women of the WMA and the entire basin to join hands, minds, and share ideas through a webinar to be hosted virtually as follows:
