KNP vet and ranger team rescues snared hyena

WARNING - GRAPHIC CONTENT: Visitors are urged to phone the 24/7 helpline when coming across animals caught in snares.

The vet and ranger team located a hyena and released it from a painful snare in the Doispan Road area in the Kruger National Park.

The animal was treated on October 6 and is expected to recover fully.

Park management reminded visitors that if they come across incidents like these, they must report them via the 24/7 helpline (013-735-4325, 013-735-0197 or WhatsApp/call 076-801-9679) found on the entry permit and not via other channels (like WhatsApp groups) where it might not reach SANParks staff immediately.
