Nelspruit licensing offices closure after positive Covid-19 case, adds to motorists’ woes

Along with thousands of other motorists, the source indicated that the long waiting hours and returning for a number of times is particularly vexing.

Frustrations with the licensing offices in Mbombela are at an all-time high as motorists fail to access services. According to an irate motorist who asked not to be named, the Mbombela Licensing Centre was closed yesterday.
The motorist said in a statement to Lowvelder, “Good luck to people that have been trying to renew expired drivers or car licenses.
“The Mbombela office is closed, the Grove Crossing do not renew licences and White River is disorganised,” the source commented.

Along with thousands of other motorists, the source indicated that the long waiting hours and returning for a number of times is particularly vexing.

“This is my 4th attempt to try and just get in inside a building. How am I supposed to keep to the rule of law if there is no help?”

In a notice posted on Facebook earlier, the City of Mbombela, through its spokesperson, Joseph Ngala, posted a
notice, citing a positive Covid-19 case as the reason for the Nelspruit Licensing Office being closed.

It read: “Kindly note that the Main Licensing Offices at the Mbombela Central Region have been temporarily closed due to a Covid-19 case.

“Customers will continue to access the service in Barberton, The Grove Shopping Centre, Hazyview and White River. Please accept our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience caused.”
