Bonsai boffins sweat the small stuff

The theme for Saturday was bougainvillea, with several club members bringing along their beautiful bonsai bougainvillea for display, as well as other species of bonsai trees.

The Nelspruit Bonsai Kai had its November meeting at Fever Tree Nursery on Saturday.

Members met early morning to attend workshops on how to look after one’s bonsai trees, different potting methods and possible fungi infestations.

Club member, Eddie Jenner, said the society meets every second Saturday every month and usually gathers at Fever Tree Nursery.

“Every now and then we will go to club members’ houses for workshops, but we usually meet here,” he said.

“For every meeting we have a style and a theme,” Jenner added.
