PCA tractor on its way back to White River

The bold, yet treacherous 2 500-kilometre trip is being made by Hattingh to raise funds for children urgently needing medical assistance in Mpumalanga.

With a few hundred kilometres to go, Pediactric Care Africa’s (PCA) Dr André Hattingh will arrive back in town this Saturday after his 14-day trip through five provinces by tractor.

Hattingh left White River Square at on May 2 at 09:00, followed by many of his supporters on bikes.

However, once the team reached Sabie, Hattingh was on his own for the remainder of the journey, travelling at just 30 kilometres per hour.

The doctor’s first overnight stop was in Burgersfort on May 2, and he has already made his way through Wolmaransstad, Koster and Boshof.

Hattingh has been keeping his supporters and donors to the cause updated on the journey, by sending through quirky WhatsApp messages to show he is still in good spirits.

On Monday May 10, Hattingh was on his way to Clarens. From Clarens, Hattingh will head to Colenso, Kingsley via Dundee, and then reach Piet Retief on May 13, before heading to Badplaas on May 14, and finally back to White River on May 15.
