A perfect Valentine’s date for golfers

Couples from all over the Onderberg were invited to Kambaku Golf Club in Komatipoort to participate in the Valentine's Day Golf Challenge on Saturday February 12.

Each team consisted of a couple who made spending a Saturday on the golf course a romantic gesture for Valentine’s Day.

A total of 44 players, in 22 teams, took on the 18 holes the course had to offer.

Lizette Barnard, Natasha Broodryk and Henk Grobler.

The winning couple of the day were team Piet and Janette Maritz who scored 47 points. Henk Grobler and Lizette Barnard were the runners-up with 45 points.

The couple who took bronze were the golf club manager Jacq Nel and Zuna Enslin with their score of 44 points.

Shireen Jones and Pieter Koekemoer came fourth with 43 and Piet and Marinette van Dyk were fifth with 42 points.

“During prize-giving, I thanked all those who contributed and sponsored the eventful day, especially Pierre Pretorius and his team at Kambaku Restaurant for the amazing dishes that suited our appetites perfectly,” said Nel.
