Trial of former Mpumalanga MEC Mandla Msibi transferred to Mpumalanga High Court

Msibi maintains that the charges are politically motivated, since he had been lobbying to run for the provincial chairperson of the ANC.

The case against former Mpumalanga agriculture, rural development and environmental affairs MEC, Mandla Msibi, and his co-accused has been transferred to the Mpumalanga Division of the High Court in Mbombela, September 5 to 16, for trial.

Msibi and his co-accused, Anele Mnisi, Joseph Charlie Ngwenya, Tsepo Eddie Matsane, Njabulo Mkhonto and Sibusiso Vincent Mdhluli, appeared in the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday March 1 to face charges of two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder.

They were allegedly involved in the shooting of Dingane Ngwenya, Sipho Lubisi and Sfiso Mpila outside Coyotes Shisa Nyama in Mbombela on August 22, 2021.
