Scores of fans attend Jo Black’s outdoor concert

Many Lowvelders went to watch Jo Black’s electric performance at Kwanyoni Lodge on Saturday evening, February 26.

Scores of people drove to the venue on Saturday afternoon, equipped with camping chairs, blankets and some with their braais, readying themselves for an evening filled with good music.

A crowd of over a hundred strong sprawled out on the grassy lawns of the lodge, surrounded by people braaiing for the hungry audience and selling beverages.

Jacaranda FM disc jockey Martin Bester started off the show, garnering a small crowd in front of the stage as he sang a variety of Afrikaans and English songs, much to the audience’s delight.

The event was part of Jo Back’s Travelling Tour with sponsors such as Weber, Zoerdoef Liquor, Attooh!, Greensky Brand Architects, Intercape and Mit Mak Motors.

After Bester had finished his set, he called on Black to take the stage. The audience immediately erupted in cacophonous applause as some made their way to the front of the stage to dance and sing along to the popular singer’s music.

Black was also sure to let the crowd know how fond he is of Mbombela, saying the Lowveld was like a second home to him. It was an evening of good food, good company and great entertainment by both Bester and Black.
