Step Foundation from Lydenburg receives recognition for charity
Kruger Lowveld Chamber of Business and Tourism (KLCBT) rewards excellence
On Friday October 28, the Step Foundation from Lydenburg, was one of the nominees in the Community Service Award Category during the Kruger Lowveld Chamber of Business and Tourism (KLCBT) Annual Awards. It was held at the Emnotweni Casino in Mbombela.
The recipient of the award for the KLCBT/Sappi Limited Nelspruit Community Service Award for 2022 was Children in Distress. Sappi Limited Nelspruit donated R10 000 each to the three finalists in this category.

Hester van Zijl, the director, and Rika Saayman, the centre manager, attended the event on behalf of the Step Foundation.
KLCBT mentioned that it was extremely difficult to single out one winner in this category. All the achievements of the charities are remarkable and they were recognised for the astounding work they do in their respective communities.
KLCBT also said it is in the nature of the Kruger Lowveld community to reach out to one another. The finalists in this category were acknowledged for their long and dedicated service to the community, in particular youth development projects, which featured strongly in the awards this year.

KLCBT Annual Awards is a showcase of excellence; it rewards outstanding business achievements, and sound business practices, and recognising businesses and individuals who truly make a difference within the Kruger Lowveld Community.
The other categories were the Special Entrepreneurs Awards, Community Responsibility Awards, President’s Awards, Tourism Awards, Inspiration Awards, and General Business Awards. Read more in the Lowvelder about the other winners on Thursday November 3.
