The youth of Sinani Arts Academy showcased their talent for the first time during a grand evening last Thursday. The event was held at Church Unlimited, Mbombela.

These youngsters from the newly established arts academy gave a memorable performance and left some guests emotional.

They sang, danced, played the marimba and recited poetry. This organisation’s AGM was held at the same time as the show, in between the various items.

Gary Phillips, the chairperson of Sinani’s board, said they had five strategies for 2022.
“The first is church mobilisation. Sinani is about mobilising the church to care for orphans and vulnerable children as much as the organisation does. Given the impact of the pandemic for the past two years, it has been difficult for the church to get out into communities and to be active. This year it was a priority for us to see the church mobilise again to live what is the Father’s heart. The second is the art academy. We wanted to establish it and institutionalise this year to be a major part of how we can care for the children that God has given us. The third is sports developments and the fourth is the food security. We are greatly concerned by the impact the pandemic has had on the poor in our city and region. The fifth is the care workers’ support, those partners to this NPO who are based in each of the life centres. They give their time, energy and their love to help the centres run effectively.”
