Sebastian de Klerk is Pumas’ Player of the Year
The announcement was made during a Night with the Stars at the Emnotweni Casino's Arena in Riverside on November 11.
After an exciting year in local rugby with the Airlink Puma’s bringing home the Currie Cup for the first time in history, the Pumas’ Player of the Year was announced at a glitzy affair at Emnotweni last week.
Not only was Sebastian de Klerk awarded the Pumas’ Player of the Year, he was also awarded the Airlink Pumas Currie Cup Backline Player of the Year, the Toyota Challenge Player of the Tournament and the player to score the most tries during the season.


The player of the year was handed a Ford Eco Sport as part of his prize, by Stephan Venter of Westvaal Numbi Ford.

The players, supporters and other stakeholders descended upon the Emnotweni Casino’s Arena in Riverside, dressed in their very best to enjoy a Night with the Stars on November 11.



Multiple awards were handed out during the event, and the new Airlink Pumas kit, created by Leoné Liebenberg of Must be Nice Clothing, was also unveiled.

• Best try (voted by supporters on Facebook): Tinus de Beer
• Sports Unplugged Best Ambassadors Trophy: Ruwellyn Isbell
• Supa Rugby Trophy: Tinus de Beer
• Prospect Player of the Year: Airlink Pumas team
• Airlink Pumas Currie Cup Forward Player of the Year: Shane Kirkwood
