Second Shalom Church Centre nearly finished outside Lydenburg

Help is needed to furnish, install electricity and build a bathroom for the first church in Skhila.

In 1999, Pr Johannes Ramashala started the Shalom Church Centre in Coromandel.

His prowess and dedication to faith and helping the community have made him a well respected, humble and trusted leader in the community.

A few months ago, he secured a piece of land in Skhila and started the second process of building a very basic structure, the first church in that area, which now needs to be finished.

The newly erected Shalom Church Centre in Skhila needs a lot of tender loving care before Christmas, before the congregation can use it.

“Our biggest need at the moment is the installation of electricity and the building of a bathroom outside. For that purpose, we will need plumbing fixtures. We need a brick wall for security measures. We have been so blessed. Someone has already donated their time to install water pipes. We also don’t have chairs yet. But electricity and a bathroom are two of the most essential items on our list at the moment,” said Ramashala.

He urged the business community to help them finalise this project in time for Christmas. The Shalom Church Centre has been approved to issue Section 18A certificates in terms of Section 18A of the Income Tax (Act 58 of 1962). This means that donations can be reclaimed for tax purposes.
