Thunderstorms expected over Mpumalanga

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has predicted severe thunderstorms for parts of Mpumalanga between 12:00 and 23:00 today, December 14.

SAWS said possible strong damaging winds, large amounts of small hail and heavy downpours are expected over the eastern Highveld area as well as the escarpment of Mpumalanga.

The storm could bring with it possible localised flooding of susceptible roads, low-lying areas and bridges, difficult driving conditions, localised structural damage to homes and cars due to hail, and damage to informal housing from wind.
