Christmas comes early for underprivileged children around White River
The main aim of the donation organised by the Help Foundation was to ensure children from poor backgrounds could also have a good Christmas.

Christmas came early for some destitute children when the Help Foundation Mpumalanga donated some gifts and food to them on December 10 at the Katoen Informal Settlement.

According to the founder of the organisation, Elize Ohlsen, more than 50 kids from around White River, Msholozi, Hillsview and some parts of Mbombela benefited from the initiative. The main aim of the donation was to ensure children from poor backgrounds could also have a good Christmas.

“We go around during the year asking for donations from local businesses to assist us to give presents and food. Some of the businesses responded positively and ensured these needy children also have a good festive season. We are still going to source more food for the kids and their families for December and January, because we know that these are difficult months,” she said.
“Some of the children are at home without food and will not understand why. We are asking for donations so that these children can eat during the holidays.”
