Runners set the pace in Jock of the Bushveld Marathon
Some 500 runners competed in this year's marathon, in 42.2km, 21km, 10km and 4.9km races.
The City of Mbombela Marathon Club held its annual Jock of the Bushveld 4-in-1 Marathon on Saturday March 18.
The runners took to the R40 from Mbombela towards Barberton to compete in their choice of a 42.2km, 21km, 10km or 4.9km race.

As they say, “the early bird catches the worm”. The races started at dawn, and some runners wore headlamps to help them navigate the road. The Mbombela Traffic Department and emergency services were active en route to help prevent any accidents whatsoever.
Around 500 entries were received for the races.
The Jock of the Bushveld Marathon would have been good preparation for the runners racing in the Nelspruit Marathon Club’s Fast Race, which is a Comrades qualifying race, this coming Saturday, March 25.
