The Railway Yard Family Market at Mustangs – The Dancing Place on September 9 saw a great turnout of locals ready to enjoy some family fun and the Lowveld Braaibroodjie Competition, which saw various contenders gunning for the win.

Sias Jordaan was victorious with what the judges, Ista van Zyl, Fanus Cloete, Anel Fincham, Jaco Swart and Clinton Janse van Rensburg, deemed a braaibroodjie to die for.

Gerhard Nel took the second place and Wilma van Zyl came third.

A hundred-and-twenty stalls offered a variety of food, drinks, treats, arts and crafts, and were abuzz with patrons, and play areas were designated for the little ones. There was definitely something for everyone.

What would a Railway Yard Family Market be without some live music? Gracing the Buffelsfontein Brandewyn Arena, Tiffany Steyn, Soul Taxi SA, the Acoustics and Brian Wilkinson performed some sweet tunes that kept the atmosphere joyful.

The market’s founder, PJ van Zyl, said he was happy with the turnout and the support received from the locals.

“I want to thank everyone who was part of the Railway Yard Family Market, and congratulations to the braaibroodjie winners. I tasted all of the braaibroodjies, and believe me, all of them were fantastic,” he said.
