Youth league in Mpumalanga stands by Zuma

The Ancyl slams calls by opposition parties and civil society to remove president Jacob Zuma from office.

MBOMEBLA – Mr Desmond Moela, deputy president of the Ancyl, and the organisation’s chairman in Mpumalanga, said today that President Mr Jacob Zuma will not fall.

“He will rise. Nobody is going to fall, not now, not until the branches of the ANC say so,” he told the media after a extended meeting between the provincial executive, regions and sub-regions held at Ehlanzeni Disaster Management Centre today.

A growing number of people within the ANC have added their voices to those calling for the president to step down or to be impeached this past week, following a ruling by the Constitutional Court on the powers of the Public Protector.

The branches and regions of the ANC in Mpumalanga will also meet to discuss the matter tomorrow.
