Sales team brings cheerful smiles to little faces

A small contribution in the form of cold drinks, toys, food, toiletries and fresh drinking water, just to mention a few, made an immediate and noticeable difference in the lives of these children.

MBOMBELA – As part of Lowvelder’s 130th birthday celebrations, the company’s sales team recently paid a visit to Sakhasive Day Care Centre to lend a much-needed hand.

A small contribution in the form of cold drinks, toys, food, toiletries and fresh drinking water, just to mention a few, made an immediate and noticeable difference in the lives of these children.

The majority of Sakhasive’s children’s parents are unemployed. Basic needs like running tap water is a luxury.

The sales department therefore also helped to collect hundreds of litres of water. The team agreed that although every bit helps, it was merely a drop in the bucket of what is needed. Upon the team’s arrival, the children were scared and cries echoed in the minuscule room supposed to house 22 children, but soon the smiles started to appear. While some employees lulled babies to sleep, others engaged in a game of soccer, while others indulged in some of the treats.

After the outreach, the team decided to further spoil the kids with treats donated by a local welfare organisation.

“We feel that we can do more for these children, therefore we will continue to provide our support where it’s needed,” the team said. They encourage community members to make a donation.
