Hitch-hiker escapes with her life

One of the cars involved in the collision landed up on its roof. Hyundai Atos was flipped on to its roof.

A hitch-hiker escaped death when the car in which she was travelling collided with another vehicle at the intersection of the Samora Machel Drive and Old Pretoria Road this afternoon.

The driver of the Atos had picked up the woman in Middelburg.

“The traffic light was yellow and in the blink of an eye it just became red.  It happened very quickly,” the driver told Nelspruit Post on the scene.

He hit a RunX, which was turning right onto Old Pretoria Road, on its side.

 

As a result of the impact, the Hyundai Atos

Neither of the drivers were injured.  The unidentified hitch-hiker was rushed to Rob Ferreira Hospital for a medical check-up but was not seriously injured.
