Drug dealers arrested across the road from police station

The suspects would appear in the local Magistrate's Court on Tuesday for possession of dagga.

Two drug busts occurred right after each other in the city on Monday morning. According to Bossies Community Justice’s Mr Albert Gryvenstein, he received a tip-off regarding a suspect operating in Andrews Street. “I then contacted the police drug unit which arrested the suspect.”

He said after that, another tip-off led to another suspect’s arrest right outside the KFC in Henshall Street, across the road from the police station.

He said approximately seven kilograms of dagga were seized. Det Sgt Loewie Laubscher confirmed that a woman and a man had been arrested.

He said the woman was apprehended with 3,6 kilograms of dagga with a street value of R9 189 and the man had 3,9 kilograms valued at R11 700. The suspects would appear in the local Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday for possession of dagga.
