UPDATE: Kidnapped Orinoco Trust woman found alive
Investigation continues as the perpetrators remain at large.
Bushbuckridge police have confirmed that Khensani Mathebula (36), who was abducted from her home in Orinoco Trust on October 1, has returned home unharmed.
According to Sergeant Merilyne Mmonwa, spokesperson for the Bushbuckridge police station, Mathebula returned on Thursday morning (October 2).
Details surrounding her return remain unclear.
“The investigation is ongoing to apprehend the suspects. We are grateful that she came back home alive and unharmed,” said Mmonwa.
Mathebula and her family were awakened by the sound of their kitchen door being forced open.

Mmonwa said six men entered the house – two armed with pistols – and demanded money. Two of the men took Mathebula’s son outside, while the others remained inside with Mathebula and two others.
Mathebula’s son said he saw his mother being forced into a vehicle parked a short distance from the house. He could only describe it as a bakkie.
The suspects took Mathebula’s Samsung A25 cellphone and a laptop and fired a single gunshot before fleeing with her. The identities of the suspects, who remain at large, are unknown. Police are appealing to the public for any information that could assist the investigation.
