Members of parliament donates to the disabled

This was part of Boshego and the organisations’s promise to visit all five disabled centres in Tubatse Municipality to hear their challenges and see how they can engage with other stakeholders in helping them. The main aim of the visit was to donate clothes, food and a gas stove. A ramp was erected for the disabled to access the centre with ease. The kids used to struggle entering the building in their wheelchairs.

GA MOTODI – The ANC’s Member of Parliament (MP) Dalitha Boledi Boshego together with representatives from the constituency office and Love &Light
organisation visited Bogwasha Protective Workshop (Disability Centre) on August 10.
According to Ms Betty Seraki manager of the centre, their building is very small and they find it difficult to accommodate the kids. “We have 20 disabled kids in one room, our premises are also not fenced. Our major problem is the unavailability of electricity. We rely
on fire to cook for the poor kids,” she said.
Ms Lerato Boshigo of Love &Light organisation also highlighted that the centre lacked basic amenities. “We hope the stoves will help them because they starved when it rained. We realised they did not have enough food and we are planning to visit them more
often.”
The MP and Love &Light previously donated goodies to Rehlahleng, Phiring and Riba Cross disabled centres.
Boshego said she would continue in her quest to improve the lives of the disabled. “We will definitely help them, we will ask assistance from different companies, I am optimistic they will lend a hand,” she promised.
She also encouraged Seraki to continue with the good work of caring for the kids.
