Bandanna dog walk at Matumi
Walkers meet at 09:00 at Induna from where they and their dogs will walk to Matumi’s picnic site. The picnic site is about four kilometres from the start next to the Mac Mac River.
A bandanna dog walk will be held on Sunday, April 28. Walkers meet at 09:00 at Induna from where they and their dogs will walk to Matumi’s picnic site. The picnic site is about four kilometres from the start next to the Mac Mac River.
All dogs participating in the walk must wear a “Bhejane bandanna” which can be purchased from the local vets or on the day of the walk. The bandannas are available in all sizes and colours and cost from R25 to R30. An additional donation of R20 is requested.
“The Bhejane bandanna label was created in memory of my Jack Russell named Bhejane,” says Craigh Pappin. “He went everywhere with me and was well known in the community. I also use to take him on daily walks.
On one of these walks I placed a bandanna around his neck and we went walking next to a farm dam. Unfortunately Bhejane was grabbed by a crocodile.”
These special bandannas are available at Hazyview Animal Clinic and White River Animal Hospitaal. All proceeds go the White River Animal Hospital’s welfare fund. Enquiries: Linda Bartholomew on 083-360-2991.
