Community asked to help police
Police are appealing to community members to work with them towards apprehending suspects and ensuring that communities are safer.
TONGA -This follows the armed robbery of a 58-year-old woman by three suspects on Friday evening.
According to the victim she was asleep in her house, with the doors closed but not locked at around 21:00.
She was awakened by the sound of her bedroom door opening and three men entering the room.
All three suspects wore balaclavas and one had a firearm.
They demanded money from the victim, before making off with the victim’s cellphone and an undisclosed amount of money.
Police are investigating and are appealing to the community to help with information that could lead to the arrest of these suspects. Anyone with information can contact Lt Col Nancy Mnisi on 072-603-8438.
