Tournament brings out the best in local talent

The 14 teams playing under Nkomazi Local Football Association (NKLFA) in the Shongwe County Stream battled it out in a knockout soccer tournament at Mbokodweni Stadium in Driekoppies last Saturday.
The annual tournament which aims to develop local players and raise funds to empower all teams, was a great success.
Barcelona claimed a 1-0 victory over 21 Jump Street. Then Happy Boys won 2-0 against Manyaveni Real Stars. Later Eastern Stars clinched a 4-3 win on penalties against Mashaba United.
The tournament representative, Danny Mashaba, stated that they worked very hard every day to maintain this level of football in the tournament.
“We work with pride as organisers of the tournament with one vision and mission, to develop our culture of football, and keep our young boys in the field of play every time,” said Mashaba.
He also pleaded with supporters to come in numbers on November 28 to witness the local talent.
