ANC to elect new leadership on weekend
The current provincial chairman, Mr David Mabuza will open the conference. It will be attended by 1 785 delegates from all the branches. In addition, 1 164 voting delegates will choose the new leadership of the organisation.
MBOMBELA – The ANC will hold its 12th provincial conference at Mbombela Stadium this weekend to elect new leadership. The party held a short media briefing on Thursday to outline the programme that will run from Friday to Sunday.
The current provincial chairman, Mr David Mabuza will open the conference.
It will be attended by 1 785 delegates from all the branches. In addition, 1 164 voting delegates will choose the new leadership of the organisation.
The president, Mr Jacob Zuma, will deliver a keynote address followed by reports on the state of the ANC from the provincial secretary, Mr Lucky Ndinisa. The latter said the top five of the party decided not to contest one another.
The conference will also present reports on the work of the provincial executive committee since the 11th provincial event of its kind in 2012.
