My Body My Space Festival
"It is an exercise in collaboration and partnerships between local business and the community"

The My Body My Space Rural Arts and Culture Festival will be even bigger this year. Entrance to the extravaganza of dance, music, visual and performing arts and crafts is free as it takes places in public spaces across eMakhazeni. Organiser PJ Sabbagh from Forgotten Angle and the Ebhudlweni Art Centre explained it started as an exercise in social cohesion and getting people to connect across socio-political lines.
“It is an exercise in collaboration and partnerships between local business and the community,” he said. Due to the success of the event last year, sponsors including the Lottery Fund, the provincial Department of Culture, Sport and Recreation and the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency have come on board. Local and international artists will perform at the festival from February 11 to 19. Find the full programme on the My Body My Space Rural Arts and Culture Festival Facebook page.
