R40 closed due to unrest

Protesters have just started gathering at the Jim Brown Bridge.

Protesters have just started gathering on the R40 between Hazyview and Buskbuckridge. A source told Hazyview Herald that they have completely blocked the road using minibus taxis and burning tyres. Residents are advised to use an alternative route.

Earlier this week the community of Acornhoek cluster were planning to blockade various routes around Hazyview, but it never materialised.

A source told this newspaper that community members are tired of potholes and want various roads in the area tarred.
