Robbers kill security officer, flee the scene
The suspects stormed into the complex driving a silver-grey Navara‚ a silver Audi A4 and a white Volkswagen Golf 6 and instructed the security officers to lie down. The others closed the R555 to Ohrigstad and the R37 next to Twin City, and started shooting randomly.
BURGERSFORT – Shoppers were left stranded after criminals bombed two ATMs, and shot and killed a security officer during an armed robbery at Twin City Complex last Friday.
“They used grinders to cut into the ATM machines. A heavy shoot-out broke out between the robbers, SAPS and security personnel. They arrived with three vehicles but left with only two. One vehicle has been recovered. Unfortunately one security guard, from an unknown company lost his life in the shoot-out,”Christo van Graan, owner of Protect Security Services Van Graan said.Limpopo SAPS spokesman, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe told Steelburger/Lydenburg News that there were about 18 suspects involved.”The suspects stormed into the complex driving a silver-grey Navara‚ a silver Audi A4 and a white Volkswagen Golf 6 and instructed the security officers to lie down.
