BREAKING NEWS: Chaos erupts in the streets of White River

They are expected to continue protesting throughout the afternoon.

Municipal workers turned the streets of White River into a rubbish dump this morning, in a protest for better wages. They caused havoc in town by blocking the roads adjacent to the Municipality with litter.

According to Serg Cynthia Mbokodo, spokesperson for White River Police Station, the protesters have dispersed and are on their way to Mbombela, where they are expected to continue protesting.

“No cases of malicious damage to property were reported,” said Mbokodo.

Yesterday, chaos also erupted in Mbombela, for the same reason as the above. There were allegations of aggression towards onlookers, as well as an apparent assault on a receptionist at Lowveld Hospital.
