BREAKING NEWS : Beggar caught in the act of injecting drugs
Divergent Ops urged members of public not to give those begging at the traffic lights money as it was enabling them in their drug addiction.
MBOMBELA – A beggar who is regularly seen at some of the city’s traffic lights, has been arrested for drug possession. Divergent Op’s Jacques Meiring said he received a call this morning from a member of the public when they saw the person entering the vlei area near Laerskool Nelspruit with another beggar.
They were caught in the act of injecting themselves with a drug, presumed to be heroin.
The one suspect fled the scene and the other was detained by Meiring who handed the beggar over to police.
Meiring urged members of public not to give those begging at the traffic lights money as it was enabling them in their drug addiction.
The suspect is set to appear in the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.
