MBOMBELA- An ongoing strike this week has caused chaos for management of the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) campus and road users. The strike started earlier this week when students protested at the campus due to their grievances regarding student accommodation.

Students started fires outside the gates and sang protest songs. Vandalising of campus buildings inside were reported. Police were called by the staff to help them exit the premises after students attempted to lock the gates on Wednesday.

Police spokesman Capt Dawie Pretorius confirmed that the protests were continuing today. He asked the public to be cautious when passing the campus situated on the R40.
