“Some of these athletes already made their mark on the South African running scene. It is amazing to see what they produce, even though they have very few or even no resources,” said sponsor of DAC Wynand Nel of Oasis.

Well-known South African athletes, such as fastest of the local runners of this year’s Comrades Marathon, Bonginkosi Noluhlazana, are also part of the training group. Noluhlazana has run the Comrades on seven occasions, and earned a silver medal for a sub 7:30:00 on each occasion. His best time was on a down run, when he recorded 6:26:25, while his best up time is 6:42:10.
