Eskom says Bushbuckridge pays well
The Eskom municipal debt in Mpumalanga is over R3 billion.

Bushbuckridge is one of the Mpumalanga municipalities applauded by Eskom’s provincial operating unit for its continuous commitment in servicing its accounts in line with the electricity supply agreement.
Other municipalities in Mpumalanga include Steve Tshwete, Pixley Ka Seme, Thembisile Hani, Dr JS Moroka, Nkomazi and Msukaligwa.
The Eskom municipal debt in the province is over R3 billion and estimated at R14 billion nationally. “I am confident that other municipalities in the province and elsewhere in the country will emulate a good payment culture as demonstrated by these municipalities,” said Phil Khumalo, general manager of the Mpumalanga operating unit.
“Municipalities which have been granted payment arrangements are advised to adhere to their respective payment plans. Thanks once again to the well-paying municipalities for supporting our quest to supply electricity on a financially sustainable basis and setting such a good example to other entities.”
