House robbed in broad daylight
While inside the house one of the men produced a firearm and pointed it at Barker.
Suspects posing as prospective house buyers robbed a woman in Colts Hill on Friday afternoon.
According to Sgt Cynthia Mbokodo of the local SAPS, three unknown suspects, two males and a female, gained access to the house of Sylvia Barker on the pretext of interest in buying the house.
While inside the house one of the men produced a firearm and pointed it at Barker.
They tied her up and took items from the house before fleeing the scene in a grey Renault Clio.
Barker was not physically harmed.
On Sunday she poured out her emotions regarding the incident in a lengthy Facebook post. She not only mourned the loss of some items of sentimental and monetary value, but also expressed her shock about the lightning-quick attack which left her in total disbelief.
She said that although she was left physically unharmed, the robbers’ invasion of her home, her safe haven, had left it corrupted by a sense of loss and violation. “Every time I recount the incident it leaves me devastated and traumatised.”
It was later reported that the three attackers had allegedly been seen in the neighbourhood, attempting to gain entry to other houses.
No arrest had been made at the time of going to press.
Mbokodo urged anyone with information to contact the local SAPS on 013-750-0888.
