Sending off the grade Rs with a wild concert

The Kobwa Hall was packed with Kidz Paradise Preschool parents on November 9, eager to see what their little ones had learned throughout the year.

MALALANE – Kidz Paradise Preschool recently hosted an animal-themed concert and celebrated the graduation of their grade Rs and the end of a successful year.

Guest speaker, Dr Suheej Nair told parents that they strived to ensure that children can play and learn freely and safely and have therefore increased security at the school. He also urged parents to encourage their children’s curiosity.

The principal, Yulandi Lombard, followed up by talking about the year’s highlights: swimming lessons, Grandparents’ Day to encourage family involvement, a library visit to encourage a love for reading, and the celebration of spring and Heritage Day. There were also annual excursions, a train trip to Komatipoort and a visit to Matsamo Cultural Village.

“The children have grown during the year and the grade Rs are excited to go to the ‘big’ school. They tackle all of their tasks with enthusiasm and I hope they will continue to have this outlook. The class of 2018 is ready to graduate,” she pronounced.

The concert consisted of classes dancing in their adorable animal-themed outfits, ranging from lions and zebras to ladybugs and bees.

The kids taking Monkeynastix classes also had a chance to demonstrate their coordination and movements learned. They were given medals and special caps “for the holidays”.

The grade R learners then had a solemn graduation ceremony before Christmas presents were handed out to each child.
