Head on collusion leaves five injured

Five people were seriously injured following a head-on collusion between two vehicles on the R40 just past the White River Golf Estate entrance on Thursday morning.

Martin Jeffrey, operations manager at Emer-G-Med, confirmed the incident and said they received the call at approximately 05:30 that there was an accident involving two vehicles and a truck.

“However, on our arrival we found that there was no truck involved, and that it was a head-on collision between two Isuzu double cab bakkies.”

Five people were stabilised and treated by Emer-G-Med and ER24 on the scene. Three of the patients received priority support while two patients were given advanced life support due to the nature of their head injuries.
