The Farmer’s Market @ Sonpark pays it forward

Besides establishing the market for the local entrepreneurs who have struggled under the effects of lockdown, the Farmer's Market @ Sonpark is also using the event as a platform for the community to further support local.

“We want to focus more on giving back to the community by giving an organisation the chance to create awareness from the stage with every market day,” said Elmarie Schoonraad, one of the organisers.

Friday October 2 will see the Nelspruit Lions Club on the stage and on Saturday the Farmer’s Market @ Sonpark will pay ode to the workers who were at the front lines during Covid-19 lockdown, such as healthcare workers, the police force and more.

On November 6 and 7, Buy Local Lowveld and Huis Bethlehem will grace the stage respectively.

The market has also started featuring live entertainment and will include Anne-Marie White, Havanna and Debbie Kriel on October 2 and White, Kriel as well as Tom Jacobie on October 3.
