One truck driver dead, one injured, in head-on
A man was killed and another injured when two trucks collided along the N4 Schagen this morning (Friday).
ER24 spokesperson, Russel Meiring said when paramedics arrived at the accident scene, they found a truck lying on its side in the middle of the road while a second, larger truck was found across the highway.
“On closer inspection, medics found a man trapped inside the overturned vehicle. Unfortunately, the man had already succumbed to his numerous injuries. Nothing could be done for him, and he was declared dead,” said Meiring.
He said the driver of the larger truck sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

TRACN4 spokesperson, Solange Soares said the accident occurred at around 11:00.
She said it is believed that a truck travelling east bound lost control and drove into oncoming traffic.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
