A man suffered serious injuries after the vehicle he was driving overturned on the R539 (Schoemanskloof) late on Saturday.

According to Netcare 911’s spokesperson, Shawn Herbst, the accident occurred at around 22:00. “Reports from the scene indicate that he lost control of his bakkie, resulting in it overturning.

“The patient was treated on scene by a Netcare 911 emergency care practitioner, while the fire and rescue services used hydraulic tools to free him from the wreckage,” Herbst said.

Once treated, the man was transported by ambulance to hospital for further treatment. More details will be published as soon as it becomes available.
