Galito’s Barberton customer ends 2020 off on cooler note

The last day of 2020 saw Galito’s giving back to its community by ways of a lucky draw at its store in this Lowveld town.

Participants stood a chance to win a Galito’s branded refrigerator. Management said this initiative was to demonstrate that they are more than just a Galito’s franchisee. “It was to show our immediate community that we care.

“We also took a big knock with Covid-19. The year took some joy away and all we intended to do was to put a smile back on one of our customers’ faces.”

The ultimate winner of the fridge was Barberton born and raised Bongani Fakude.

Ten receipts were selected for the lucky draw. Of the 10, six customers showed up on the day and were treated to breakfast and a Galito’s T-shirt.

After the quick breakfast, an unexpecting customer queueing for a meal of her own got roped into the excitement, and was asked to draw the winning name.

Store managers, Summertime Ndlangamandla and Busisiwe Mahlangu, were the driving force behind the initiative and did the honours of handing over the prize to Fakude.

It was a day well spent with the goal of giving back, reached. “We care about the community and this is just the beginning. There is more to come,” management said.
