Bad Peter sets the stage on fire

Bad Peter, the renowned band of Centurion, invaded The Pub’s stage last weekend.

The band, celebrating its seventh year in the industry, is no stranger to the Lowveld, with performances at The Pub and Innibos to their name.

“It feels good to be back,” PG Badenhorst, a band member, said. “Especially after the hit of the pandemic on our industry, we are thankful that live performances are happening again.”

Bad Peter played over two hours for an audience of 70 on Friday night.

According to Etienne Coetzee, owner of The Pub, the audience received the group extremely well. “They had to play extra songs, to the encore of the audience,” Coetzee said. “Everyone was dancing and singing along.”

The band started its own music school during the pandemic, and offered guitar, ukulele and singing lessons.

“We did what we had to do. The industry is struggling,” Alwyn Bekker, another band member, said. “It has been really rewarding to teach these learners.”
