Sbu lives to inspire the youth
His chosen name, "Epic Sbu", rings true for a young man with epic dreams about inspiring the youth.
Fanie Sbusiso Mahlangu (19) started a YouTube channel to help teens who suffer from anxiety and depression. Even his TikTok following has grown in leaps and bounds. Mahlangu was born and raised in Lydenburg by a single mother. He attended Kellysville Primary School and later matriculated at Skhila Secondary School. As a self-proclaimed life coach and motivational speaker, he has visited Marambane Primary School, Entheos Christiaan School and Marifaan Primary School over the past few months to tell children there is nothing wrong about being different. “I want to empower the youth to become the best version of themselves. The youth in the townships are sometimes affected by wrong elements that can be drug- or gang-related. There is always hope if you feel trapped,” said Mahlangu. He said he was a misunderstood teen and an introvert. His teachers always told him to open up. His videos have gone viral and the community now recognise him as someone who wants to make a difference. Mahlangu may be contacted on 062 086 6508, found on Facebook @Epic Sbuda Mahlangu, and his TikTok handle is @Epic Sbu Official.
