Boy passed away after being hit by vehicle
A grade two learner from Marifane Primary School had to be airlifted to the hospital after he was hit by a moving vehicle.
He passed away from his injuries.
The incident occurred on the Skhila/ Burgersfort Road on Tuesday August 8 just after 07:00. According to bystanders he tripped and fell.
The motorist immediately stopped and emergency personnel and N3 Rapid Response were on the scene within minutes.
Deon Broekman of N3 Rapid Response confirmed the boy had sustained serious head injuries.
The Netcare 911 helicopter airlifted him to Rob Ferreira Hospital in Mbombela. He was in critical condition before he was airlifted and had serious injuries. With respect to his family, his name is being withheld at the moment.
