Nkomazi employee shot and killed in municipality building allegedly by her partner
The shooting occurred on Tuesday October 12 inside the Nkomazi Local Municipality.

A Nkomazi Local Municipality employee, Wandile Lucia Khoza (29), was shot and killed at her place of work on Tuesday afternoon, October 12, allegedly by her partner (31) who is believed to be an SANDF officer.
A provincial police spokesperson, Col Donald Mdhluli, said the shooting is said to have occurred around 15:45 on Tuesday as she was preparing to finish her day’s work and leave.
“The suspect allegedly entered the municipality premises. An argument ensued between the two, which resulted in the fatal shooting. The suspect then fled the scene,” said Mdhluli.

The police and paramedics rushed to the scene. Khoza was declared dead. A murder case was opened and a manhunt was launched for the suspect. He handed himself over to the police on Wednesday night.
The suspect also handed his private firearm to the police and the seized weapon will form part of the probe. The man is said to be a member of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) based in Middelburg. He is due to appear in the Nkomazi Magistrate’s Court on Friday October 15 to face a charge of murder
