Well-known Barberton resident found murdered

It is alleged that Sturgeon's body was discovered by his domestic worker around 09:00.

A well-known Barberton resident, Edwin Sturgeon, fondly known as Ned, was found dead in his home on Wednesday morning.

Various sources, including residents who knew him well, and the police have confirmed his death. A provincial police spokesperson, Col Donald Mdhluli, said a case has not yet been opened as members of the SAPS are still on the scene.

Although he could not provide Lowvelder with more details at this stage, it is alleged that Sturgeon’s body was discovered by his domestic worker around 09:00. He is believed to have been strangled.
