KNP Tshokwane fire contained
The Kruger National Park's spokesperson, Isaac Phaahla, said the fire could be controlled after cooler temperatures and a drizzle on Monday.
The cause of a fire that had broken out in the Kruger National Park’s Tshokwane area on Sunday, has yet to be determined.
The park warned its visitors on the day that a large fire was raging in the area. Due to the hot temperatures and wind speed, the firefighters had not been able to control the blaze at that stage.

At the time of the notice, there had been no other reports of damage to infrastructure aside from a ranger’s tent that had been destroyed.
The park’s spokesperson, Isaac Phaahla, said there had not been any other damages following the initial notice.
Phaahla said the fire could be controlled after cooler temperatures and a drizzle on Monday.
The fire was closely monitored and it did not spread to any other sections.
No injuries had been reported.
